Biographical Details

Martin obtained his MChem (Hons) from the University of St Andrews (Scotland) in 2009 following research projects under the supervision of Prof. Doug Philp. He then moved to the University of Oxford for his DPhil supervised (2013-2016) by Prof Harry L. Anderson FRS, where he studied molecular wires and aromaticity. A short postdoc in Oxford followed, then a postdoc at Massachusetts Institute of Technology, supported by a Lindemann Trust Fellowship of the English-Speaking Union. During this time he worked with Prof Timothy M. Swager, exploring Faraday rotating materials. Early 2019 involved short postdoctoral visits back to the Anderson group (Oxford) and to MIT, before Martin started work at UNSW in June as a Scientia Fellow.
