Posted 14 December 2017

One of our newest Senior Lecturers, Dr Suzanne Neville has been awarded the 2018 Alan Sargeson Lectureship from the Inorganic Chemistry Division, of the Royal Australian Chemistry Institute. The Lectureship acknowledges the outstanding and innovative individual contributions of an early career researcher in the field of Inorganic Chemistry, based on their achievements within the first 10 years since obtaining their Ph.D.

As part of this award, Neville will tour universities and research institutions around Australia and New Zealand to present her research.

The RACI Organic Division award a similar Lectureship – the Athel Beckwith Lectureship – which was awarded to Dr T. Vinh Nguyen in 2016.

Neville – who was recruited to UNSW School of Chemistry in August of 2017 – focuses her research on the development of molecular switching nanomaterials for modern technology. She was awarded a highly competitive Futures Fellowship from the Australian Research Council, beginning in 2018, to carry out this work.
